Tickets to Kaleo?

For the first year or two, Kaleo Church in Houston met in a theatre. So I figured why not play off this theme and create an invitation that looked like an old movie ticket. This card was released during a campaign built around the idea, “Quit Going to Church.”

The idea of “Quit Going to Church” was that church is not something you go to, it is something that you are 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. So the concept of this “Ticket Flyer” was that it was “Your Ticket to Quit”. It played on both the campaign and the fact that we met in a theatre.

To fit some copy on it without ruining the look, I actually created a folding card with the copy on the inside. I feel it leaves the outside more intriguing.

Here is what I came up with.

The copy in the inside says:

YOUR TICKET to QUIT. What would life be like if we truly connected with God and with each other? For that to happen, we have to quit going to church. Church was never meant to be an event we go to, but to be something that we are.

Join us Sundays at 9:30 at the Edward’s Marq*E as we learn how to live as a community of people committed to following Jesus in every part of our lives.
